Roof
Insulation is a great way to add more "R" value to
and already insulated attic space or above an area
where an attic does not exist such as pool
enclosures, & vaulted ceilings.
What
is the difference between Nail Base Roof Insulation
and Vented Roof Insulation?
- Nail Base Roof
Insulation is non-vented roof insulation which
means the OSB is directly adhered to the
Polyisocyaneurate foam and does not allow for
air flow.
- Nail Base Roof
Insulation is used above the structural deck
usually over a cathedral ceiling
- Vented Roof
Insulation 1 is manufactured with 1 layer of OSB
is more of a residential application.
- Vented Roof
Insulation 2 is manufactured with 2 layers of
OSB and is designed primarily for commercial
applications or homes with a heavy roof such a
tile.
- Single
manufacturers and the Asphalt Roofing
Manufacturers Association require ventilation
between the roof sheathing and any insulation.
If there is not any ventilation between the
sheathing and insulation shingle warranties
become void. Ventilated Roof Insulation
solves this problem
